Highpoint I - OPENSTUDIO
Highpoint I

Highpoint I is a Grade I Listed modernist building constructed in 1935 by Russian-born architect Berthold Lubetkin. The project involved a sensitive and careful restoration of an apartment which had previously been signficantly altered from the original layout, and which did not retain any original fittings, or materials.

We reinstated many of the original elements including the ‘piano wall’, large sliding door and cork flooring, and refurbished the spectacular concertina window to the living room. A simple material palette of European oak and white painted plaster was chosen to retain the bright and airy feel to the apartment and complement the tone of the cork flooring. Bespoke joinery items were also designed to fit within the constraints of the existing spaces and provide plentiful storage.

The attention to detail and care of the contractor has resulted in an immaculately finished project.
