Land Claims Court

The Land Claims Court in South Africa acknowledges the history of land ownership and attempts restitution of this history within post-apartheid South Africa. The project is sited in District Six in Cape Town, the site of one of the most notorious forced removals of the apartheid period. The project is to register this erasure, to re-inscribe the memory and traces of occupation of the site in order to develop an ambiguous landscape, which is also a building.
